Symptom

I would like to make files larger than 1 GB available to my users via download. The files are to be downloaded from a browser via a link on the website. However, any attempt will stop after 1 GB has been downloaded.

Cause

In the Nginx web server, the standard download security limit is 128 MB. Bitpalace has extended this limit to 1 GB by default in all customer accounts. Larger files cannot be processed by the web server with this setting.

Solution

Changing the download limit requires two changes in the Nginx web server configuration:

client_max_body_size ;
proxy_max_temp_file_size 0;

for example

client_max_body_size 5G;
proxy_max_temp_file_size 0;

After the change, the web server configuration must be reloaded.

You cannot make these changes yourself. Please contact the support team with the information about the size of your largest download file, so that Bitpalace can adapt your web server configuration individually.
